Explore Chambord and its estate

The best thing about camping in the Loire castles is that you can visit any of them at any time. So why not take a detour to one of the best-known, the Château de Chambord?

Chambord Castle

Château de Chambord is the epitome of a monument of remarkable history and architecture. Requested by François I and designed by architects such as the artist Leonardo da Vinci, the building is a true masterpiece. Every interior space has been designed to astonish visitors with its meticulous décor and bold architecture. This château will take you back through the centuries of its construction and all the history that surrounds it, but it will also allow you to simply contemplate the beauty of its fittings and decor.

Gardens and park of Chambord

At the heart of the estate, on the outskirts of the château, are the magnificent Chambord gardens and the sublime park that surrounds them. The estate is located on the Boulogne forest massif, so of course you can also take a stroll along one of the footpaths. During this excursion, you’ll come across some amazing flora and fauna, as well as a range of activities to help you discover the area in a different way. The garden will undoubtedly add a green and colorful touch to your visit to Chambord. With an English-style garden open to all, and a French-style garden reserved for visitors to the château, you’ll be able to contemplate these two distinctly different but equally enjoyable spaces. Trees, plants, flowers and shrubs blend harmoniously to give life to this exceptional park near the Chambord campsite.

Saint Louis Church

Thechurch of Saint Louis, built in 1666 at the request of Louis XVI, was enlarged and restored over a long period of time to give the result we know today. For centuries, this historic monument was home to some of France’s most noble families. The interior features 3 altars with different functions, a sublime tapestry and a large nave with fleurs-de-lis.

Chambord vineyard

The vineyard, located about a kilometer from the château, offers enthusiasts 3 different wines. One red and two whites. These blends are made from 5 grape varieties: romorantin, which produces a pure white wine; pinot noir and gamay, which make up the red; and a white combining orbois and sauvignon. These Loire Valley wines are the result of a real ecological, heritage and historical project.
